The man in the photograph is me, staring down at the world from the mantelpiece. Preserved through time in a picture frame, but in my mind it will always remain. I’m the son of the son of the man I see. I know that smile, I know those eyes, I know that soul, it was passed to me, it was passed to me, it was passed to me. Time has aged the sepia sky but the world’s the same and there’s life in those eyes. Tea stained and faded memories, but the older you get, the more you see. He loved me my grandmother tells me; I was a child, but I remember clearly. Fifty years passed and the boy grows up to see the man in the photograph is me. In the picture he shares a smile with his wife to be, in his army stripes set against the black and white sea, beautiful horizon where heaven might be, but no man can see. She takes my hand, tells me how we look the same, and it helps the pain, now here comes the rain. Through the glass I stare into his eyes; he stares back and becomes alive. We share a moment together; he beckons me nearer to a place I’m not ready for, but I will see him again, I will see him again, of this I’m sure. Is this my reflection staring back at me? This is beyond similarity; the man in the photograph is me. [Chorus]: And we sang Ay yi yi… said the man in the photograph is me. My father stood alone one silent night, the stars shone down like diamond lights. Though I couldn’t see his eyes, he whispered into the wind oh so quietly, well I waited silently. Said I was just a boy, but I knew something had changed. Something inside me told me to stay. Then he looked down with tearful eyes and he said son, the man in the photograph is, the man in the photograph is, the man in the photograph is free. [Chorus] Alright. Let the rivers flow, let the wind blow. You say goodbye and I say hello. The man in the photograph is me, staring down at the world from the mantelpiece. Preserved through time in a picture frame, but in my mind it will always remain. I’m the son of the son of the man I see. I know that smile, I know those eyes, I know that soul, it was passed to me, it was passed to me, it was passed to me..

Alibi 03:42
I don’t care, I don’t care, just as long as you are there. Please don’t cry, don’t you cry. Promise me you won’t say goodbye. [Chorus]: When you’re gone, I said I don’t worry, but I lied, I lie. Denied I was wrong, but you carried on. Quick-fire lie. It’s your alibi. Hello honey, how are you? The grass is green and the sky is blue. Where have you been recently? Tell me, did you cheat on me? [Chorus] I can watch tv by myself, I could read a novel from the shelf, I could write a song, maybe drink a little wine, I’m real good at wasting time. Maybe go to sleep, take my mind off you. I can dream of anything I want to, but all the time I’m hoping that you come home soon. [Chorus]
3.
Why you calling me? Why you calling me again? I only spoke to you an hour ago and very little’s changed. She tells me that she loves me more than any woman that I will ever know, and I believe her so, but I’ve got to go. Why you calling me? Why you bothering me again? I only spoke to you half an hour ago and the world is still the same. She questions whether I have made the right decisions in my life, and I tell a lie and I say goodbye. Tell me, tell me, are you coming home? Suddenly I feel all alone. I feel a cold breeze blowing down my spine every time I try to say, [Chorus]: I really miss you today. I really miss you today. I miss the way she used to call me all the time and tell me son you will always be mine. Why you calling me? Cause I don’t want to let you go. If you don’t tell me what you mean to me, how will I ever know? The day that I can find the words is the day that I will known that I have grown, but don’t wait too long cause you never know. Tell me, tell me, are you coming home? Suddenly I feel all alone. I feel a cold breeze blowing down my spine every time I try to say, [Chorus] Oh please, please, please be mine. [Chorus]
4.
What do you want me to be? Don’t keep all your secrets from me, cause every time you call, you say Hey yo, hey yo, hey yo! [Chorus]: Once more I find, oh, this lullaby in love, what you trying to hide? But I know someone’s looking out for me from up above, but I still can’t find your love. I picked her up from London town. She asked me to show her all around. I said we could have some fun, but life’s a bitch so take it all. [Chorus]
5.
See, I was smoking in the sunshine on a clear blue summer’s day. I didn’t know where the hell I was, but I thought I knew the way to the funky old cat’s home – oh man, you should’ve seen those street cats moan! (rrrowl) I picked up my guitar and start to play. ‘What the hell you looking at?!’ I heard them pussies cry. Don’t you know I’m James the Cat? I’m sweeter than a cherry pie! I’m the meanest cat on this scene; I play real hard, and I fight real mean. You’re gonna take one look at me, you know what I mean. [Chorus]: My name’s James. James the Cat. Chasing the birds and the butterflies, yo. James the Cat. Everybody knows about me, how I like to sing and wail. I’m the smoothest cat in this town, I like to shake my tail. I got blues, bass and guitar, a pretty little woman and a real fast car. You’re gonna take one look at me and know I’m going far. [Chorus] See, I was smoking in the sunshine on a clear blue summer’s day. I didn’t know where the hell I was, but I thought I knew the way to the funky old cat’s home – oh man, you should’ve seen those street cats moan! I picked up my guitar…well, I picked up my guitar…I picked up my guitar and start to play. (2-3-4) [Chorus]
6.
If I was to tell you the sky is falling down, would you run for cover or would you stick around? Yes I remember the first time trouble came your way. You said you would change for no one, but look at you today; you’re running away now. [Chorus]: Take your time to think it over. Maybe then you’ll understand. Just one night to think it over. Well, it’s a running theme of a broken dream, so leave if you want – but maybe we can start again. London streets can whisper ‘take the path you seen before’. Though that might seem easy, but will it bring it to my door? Yes I, Yes I see you booked the first train to anywhere but here. Packed your suitcase and your makeup to hide away your tears; you’re living in fear now. [Chorus] – but maybe we can start again. Lady, you know you’re always on my mind. Lady, stop wasting my time. When all that’s been said and done, there’s nothing left to say. You took all my love and you gave it away. [Chorus] Take your time to think it over. Maybe then you’ll understand, oh yes, you will. Just one night to think it over. Said you got to go, you got to go… [Chorus]
7.
You really didn’t have to get me something, but seeing as you already did… Can I feel it? Can I hold it? Can I see how well you know me? I can’t wait until tomorrow. Am I getting warmer as I go? Cause I’m not one for surprises, oh no. Got a feeling I won’t like it, oh no. Wait, wait… [Chorus]: Oh, just what I always wanted. Oh, just what I always needed. Who would’ve known you know me so well? Who would’ve known you know me so well? I’m a little fool, I know, with a little heart, but a lot of soul. Whatever you get me, I will cherish every day. I only throw my favourite memories away. [Chorus]
8.
Realize the sun may cry, deep inside an angel died. The sinner and the holy grail, the holy man within his cell. Well, sell your soul, it’s logical, it’s magical, it’s radical. Race to find your way to hell, win or lose you cannot fail. We all knew that it would be this way. [Chorus]: Come to the end of the show. I can’t hold you back, I know. Oh, this is the end. You gotta keep it moving before you lose control. You gotta keep it moving before you lose your soul. There’s no need to worry when you’re always on the move. No time to be sorry, nothing to lose, no, no, no. We all knew that it would be this way. [Chorus]
9.
What is right and what is wrong? Can I sing a different song? Could you love me? Could you love me? I kissed her once, I kissed her twice, and nothing ever felt so nice. Could you love me? Could you love me? [Chorus]: Said, I would do most anything that you ask me to. And baby, I don’t ask too much of you. Well, now, do you listen when I sing? Cause I wrote these songs for you, and there’s just one little thing you could do. I see white, and I see black, and I know there’s no going back. Could you love me? Could you love me? There’s nothing on, it’s late at night. Can I make a wish tonight? Could you love me? Could you love me? [Chorus] You could pretend to be amazed by me. You could sleep for seven days with me. You could gaze into my eyes and whisper things that weren’t lies and turn the songs I write into reality. Medicine, medicine, go stand over there with them. Could you love me? Could you love me? There’s nothing on, it’s late at night. Can I make a wish tonight? Could you love me? Could you love me? [Chorus] You gotta love me.

Live Outside 05:57
Can you see beyond the walls you created? Climb, climb on out from the life you always hated. [Chorus]: But if we try, we can learn to live outside. Open up the door, open up the door and say goodbye. They will miss you, but you know they understand. It’s time to get out of here, maybe come back a better man. Then, and only then, will you see the world you’re missing. That voice inside your head says go, and finally you’re listening. [Chorus] You’re on your own, but you never felt so free. The roads are long now, and they’re just waiting there for me. Oh, if I should die, tell my love I really tried, and although I’m gone, at least I got to finally live my life. A baby is born in the city, and here he may choose to stay, but that baby may never know the life he could’ve had. Don’t you sometimes feel this way? [Chorus] You’re on your own, but you never felt so free. The roads are long now, and they’re just waiting there for me. Oh, if I should die, tell my love I really tried, and although I’m gone, at least I got to finally live my life. You’re on your own, but you never felt so free. The roads are long now, they’re just waiting there for me. Oh, if I should die, tell my love I really tried, and although I’m gone, at least I got to finally live my life. You’re on your own now, you’re on your own, you’re on your own. You’re on your own now, let’s just see how much you’ve grown. Oh, if I should die, tell my love I really tried, and although I’m gone, at least I got to finally say goodbye. and although I’m gone, at least I got to finally say I tried. and although I’m gone, at least I got to finally live my life.
